A lightning storm moving through the area Friday night put a damper on opening night of the high school football year, postponing games in the Beacon-News coverage area, including the 121st battle between East Aurora and West Aurora.

Games will be played Saturday at the following times:

West Aurora at East Aurora, 7:30 p.m.

Glenbard North at Batavia, 1 p.m.

Waubonsie Valley at Naperville Central, 6:30 p.m.

Geneva at Oswego, 7 p.m.

Metea Valley at Plainfield East, 6 p.m.

Plainfield Central at Marmion, 11 a.m.

Brooks at Kaneland, 7:30 p.m.

Oswego East at Woodstock, 4:30 p.m.

Ottawa at Yorkville, Saturday, 6 p.m.

Plano at Reed-Custer, Saturday, 7 p.m.

DuSable at Aurora Christian has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m.
