Girls basketball

Paw Paw 39, Mooseheart 9 — The Red Ramblers dropped their opener at the Class 1A Hinckley-Big Rock Regional. Paw Paw will face the host Royals at 6 p.m. Tuesday in semifinal action.

Somonauk 45, Dwight 34 — The Bobcats picked up a win at the Class 2A Wilmington Regional and will face Seneca in an 8 p.m. Wednesday semifinal. Allison Humes had 14 points and six rebounds and Emily Clark added 11 points and three steals for Somonauk (14-13).

Batavia 70, Oswego East 44 — Liza Fruendt led the Bulldogs (18-9) with 17 points. Miranda Grizaffi added 16 points.

Plano 50, Herscher 33 — Zhate Jackson had 20 points and six rebounds to lead the Reapers (20-6, 8-2). Clarisa Martinez chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds and nine blocks.

Oswego to hold Hall induction

Oswego High School will hold its annual Hall of Fame induction Friday. The ceremony will take place in between the sophomore (5 p.m.) and varsity (6:30 p.m.) boys basketball games against Minooka.

The following athletes will be inducted: Richard “Dick” Campbell (Class of 1955), Sandi Strock (1977), Damon Cochran (1993), Josh Shultz (1993), Lori Wackerlin (1994), John Brunty (1995), A.D. Pynenberg (2004), Jeff Ziemnik (2004), Ryan Keeton (2005), Sara Snider (2005), John (JR) Kremer (2006), Joseph Lang (2006), Tyler Boyle (2007), Kelsey Hoinkes (2007), Jim Kwiatkowski (2007), Allison Laning (2007) and Chris Schulz (2007).

Pickerill Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to Terry Coley, Judy Hafenrichter, Dave Keely, Linda Keely, Bill Kontos, Ed Kral and Doug Moews.

Oswego High School invites back all Athletic Hall of Famers to welcome the newest members.

NABA registration open

The North Aurora Baseball Association has opened registration for the 2013 season.

The NABA is an affiliate of the Fox Valley Park District and offers organized instruction and play for children ages 4-18. The league’s primary focus is in-house recreational leagues. Travel teams are also offered for players ages 8-18.

Players may register for any of the following in-house divisions: Shetland (ages 4-6), Pinto (7-8), Mustang (9-10), Bronco (11-12), Pony (13-14) and Colt (15-16). Practices begin in April with games starting in May and running through mid-July.

Online registration is open at www.eteamz.com/NABA. All players except Shetland must tryout at IMSA on March 16.
