Boys Basketball

Plano 59, Coal City 35 — Collin Seyller had 16 points and Elijah Wallace 14 to lead the Reapers, who shot 59 percent (24-41) for the game.

Plano also claimed a 35-24 advantage on the boards with Jon McDermott pulling down nine and Wallace and Luke Romano seven each.

Somonauk 60, Dixon 47 — John Wathen scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Bobcats to their first win of the tournament. Daniel Reiss added 13.

Sandwich 44, Forreston 42 — Jake Roehn had 11 points and Seth McDonald and Davis Brown nine each to pace the Indians in the 21st place game at Plano.

Yorkville 69, Indian Creek 65 — Taylor Carter had 22 points to lead the Foxes, who got 15 from Dakota Gette and 12 from King Davis.

Indian Creek got 20 each from Jaron Todd and Tyler Reynolds and outshot the Foxes 55 percent (23-42) to 50 percent (25-50), but was hurt by 23 turnovers.

Newark 42, Morris 37 — Brett Anderson scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Norsemen to the win in the seventh place game at the Plano Classic. Morris had a 28-16 rebounding advantage but committed 14 turnovers to just eight by Newark.

Girls Basketball

Aurora Central 47, East Aurora 45 — The Chargers, who lost co-captain Lisa Rodriguez at the beginning of the third quarter with a head injury, were led by senior co-captain Alex DeCraene, who scored 17 points and had eight rebounds. Sophomore Kailey Soris also contributed 13 points.

East was led by Tyshee Towner’s 21 points.
