Boys basketball
Newark 79, IMSA 53 — Brett Anderson totaled 31 points, nine assists and four rebounds to lead the Norsemen. Jack Clausel added 22 points and six rebounds.
Girls basketball
Plano 40, Seneca 34 — Clarisa Martinez led the Reapers (5-4, 2-1) with 10 points, 20 rebounds and nine blocked shots. Zhate Jackson added 11 points.
Hinckley-Big Rock 38, Somonauk 29 — Abbie Tosch poured in 24 points to lead the Royals (4-3, 2-0). The Bobcats (4-4, 1-1) got nine points, five rebounds and three steals from Allison Humes.
Serena 51, Indian Creek 45 — Josie Diehl led the Timberwolves with 13 points. Kate Thuestad added 10 points.
Westmont 43, Sandwich 35 — Kaylyn Wedra had 14 points for the Indians. Anna Ford chipped in 12 points.
