Boys basketball

Dundee-Crown 51, Newark 39 — The Norsemen stepped up in class at the Sycamore Tournament and were able to hang with the Chargers, down 28-22 at the half, but were done in by 21 turnovers. Senior center Brett Anderson had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six steals for Newark.

Hinckley-Big Rock 61, St. Anne 52 — Bernie Conley’s 14 points paced the Royals. Zach Michels added 13 points and Jared Madden 11 points.

Indian Creek 51, Luther North 34 — Garrett Post led the Timberwolves with 13 points at the Westminster Christian Tournament.

Metamora 72, Yorkville 40 — Taylor Carter scored 10 points for the Foxes at the Ottawa Tournament.

Waubonsie Valley 99, Noble 21 — The Warriors coasted at the Palatine Tournament.

Andrew 62, Oswego East 55 — C.J. Vaughan scored 21 points and Tyler Ross had 12 for Oswego East in its Hoops for Healing Tournament opener. The Wolves trailed 30-21 at intermission.

Geneva 44, Marmion 42 — The Vikings opened with a win at the West Chicago Tournament. Illiana Christian 80, Somonauk 34

— The Bobcats struggled at the Seneca Tournament. John Wathan scored 10 points in the loss.

Joliet West 70, Aurora Central 44 — Phil Schuetz had 11 points for the Chargers at the Joliet West Tournament.

Montini 68, IMSA 38

Girls basketball

St. Bede 51, Somonauk 50 — Allison Humes led the Bobcats (2-3) with 13 points. Ashlee Kawall totaled seven points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Metea Valley 49, North Chicago 31 — Nia Flowers scored 13 points to pace the Mustangs (4-0).
