Aurora 47, Rockford 20 — AU finishes the season with a 5-5 overall record and 4-3 in the NAC.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
WCC women win two — Waubonsie Community College traveled to Moline and Galesburg and came away with two wins this weekend, raising their record to 3-2. The Chiefs beat Blackhawk 60-54, led by LaDesha Nelson’s 13 points. On Saturday, WCC won a thriller at the buzzer on a layup by Emma Darby, who finished with 16 points.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Division III regional — Aurora University finished 14th of 40 teams at the NCAA Midwest regional Saturday. CJ Houlis finished 18th overall as the top AU finisher.
WCC in national race — Four Waubonsee runners competed in the NJCAA Division I cross country championships Saturday in Ina. The Chiefs were led by Jennifer Howland, who finished 64th in 20:11.1. Right behind in 65th place was Amanda Palmquist (20:11.3). Ashley Leonetti was 102nd and Jazmin Zepeda was 143rd.

Division III regional — Aurora University finished tied for 20th of 39 teams in the NCAA Midwest regional. Fabian Cabrera finished 89th as the top AU finisher.
