A convicted sex offender is facing charges he tried to rape a worker at a South Side massage parlor.
Chicago Police used a Taser on Byron Moore, 49, of Markham, after he allegedly barricaded himself inside a massage room with the 40-year-old woman he’s accused of attacking Friday night attack in the 3100 block of South Archer.
Moore told worker there that he wanted a massage, Cook County prosecutors said Sunday. Once inside the business, Moore allegedly stole $100, then pushed a female worker into a room and attempted to rape her, prosecutors said.
Two other employees called police, who had to force their way into the room to subdue Moore, who had been convicted of a 1999 sexual assault.
Moore was charged with attempted criminal sexual assault, armed robbery and unlawful restraint.
Judge Edward Harmening set bail for Moore at $1.5 million.
