High gasoline prices: According to an article in USA Today, many people are keeping the current run up in gas prices in perspective. Gas prices were lower in May and June and still not as high as they were in April. I’m not taking gas prices in stride. I live on a limited income and these gas prices have placed a tremendous a financial burden on me for years.
Road striping needed: I wish they’d get some paint striping on Farnsworth Avenue. Are we out of pavement paint, or what? You can’t see the stripes and we almost get side-swiped.
Solve housing problem: I think the Aurora Housing Association should buy that foreclosed house that Alderman Lawrence went into. That would be a good way to solve the housing problem if we bought all the foreclosed houses in his ward to provide housing for these people, we wouldn’t need to build anything on Jericho.
A new city dump: I just wanted to let the citizens of Aurora know about Grand View Boulevard on the East Side. The view would be grand if it wasn’t for all the garbage, the tires, the televisions. It’s right next to Oakhurst Forest Preserve. Such a beautiful sight. Looks like the city dump. Aurora has opened a new city dump. The trees are overgrown.
Riding on sidewalks: I’m calling about the Speak Out comment about the sidewalks not being bicycle trails. Well, if the people driving on the road would watch out for our bikes, maybe we wouldn’t have to ride on the sidewalks.
No voter ID: Regarding voter ID required. I think not. That’s already been covered by the voter registration act. And the Republicans are not going to get their way on that because they’re not going to be here again after this election. Time for a change. And as far as the Tea Party goes and their racist attitude towards the president, time for them to go bye-bye. Their experiment time is over.
