The chairman of the Illinois Republican Party will be the campaign chairman for Kevin Burns’ run for chairman of the Kane County Board.
Burns’ campaign announced that Pat Brady, a St. Charles resident, will head up the Geneva mayor’s quest for Republican nomination.
“Kevin has the unique combination of executive experience coupled with a deep understanding of the operations of local government,” Brady said in an email announcement.
“This will allow him to hit the ground running as Kane County Board chairman.”
Burns is facing State Sen. Chris Lauzen in the Republican primary.
Current Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay announced she will run for the 33rd State Senate District, which includes large parts of northwest Kane County including Huntley, Hampshire, Wayne and St. Charles.
No Democrats have announced an interest in running for Kane board chairman so far.
