Realtor faces charges in Aurora home burglary

A local Realtor has been charged in a residential burglary this week at a home on Aurora’s southwest side, police said.
According to police, Dennis M. Malmgren, 70, of the 100 block of LeGrande Boulevard, Aurora, was charged with felony burglary after an incident around 3 p.m. Tuesday at a home in 800 block of Suncrest Drive.
Malmgren and two other men were removing several items, including a kitchen stove, from the home without the consent of the real estate broker who was responsible for the property, police said.
The two other men were not charged in the incident, and a full list of items removed from the property is not yet available, police said.
Aurora
Copper piping, valued at $1,000, was stolen between Jan. 22 and Monday from a home in the 400 block of Weston Avenue. A back door and rear basement window were also damaged, police said.
Utility lights were reported damaged between Jan. 23 and Monday from a lot in the 0-99 block of South Broadway. Estimated loss was $1,650, police said.
A computer, iPod and several Playstation 3 games were stolen between 6:45 and 10:30 p.m. Monday from a home in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said.
Jully Herrera, of the 700 block of Grove Street, Aurora, was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center after a two-car crash at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday at High and Pierce streets. Herrera was charged with no insurance and the other driver, Brian M. Terry, of the 300 block of Pierce Street, Aurora, was charged with improper lane use, police said.
Amanda E. Weiss-Horne, of the 500 block of Madison Street, Batavia, was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center with leg pain after a two-car crash at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday at Lake Street and Sullivan Road. Michael J. DeFalco of Plainfield was charged with failure to yield turning left, police said.
Joe Rodriguez, 30, of Aurora, was charged with felony violation of duty to register as a sex offender Saturday at the Aurora Police Department.
Charles E. Parkhurst, 29, of the 1200 block of Appletree Lane, Aurora, was charged with felony violation of duty to register as a sex offender Jan. 24, at the Aurora Police Department.
