Geneva storage lockers raided

Three storage units in a commercial storage facility were ransacked between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 25 in the 1000 block of East State Street, Geneva police said last week. The thief stole electronics worth $1,550 from one unit, rummaged through a law firm’s legal documents stored in boxes in another unit and stole $4,597 worth of personal possessions from another unit after breaking the padlocks of all three units, police said.

Batavia

About $1,100 cash was stolen from a Batavia School District maintenance building in the 1500 block of West Wilson Street sometime before 1 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

A Smith and Wesson law enforcement magazine with 12 rounds was found at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of South Van Buren Street, police said. The ammunition was placed into police evidence for destruction.

A flat-screen TV, laptop computer and PlayStation video game system were stolen from a home in the 100 block of South Batavia Avenue before 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Two plasma televisions worth $1,200 were stolen from a home in the 1200 block of East Wilson Street before 5:56 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Geneva

A projector TV worth $800 was stolen from a room in Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave., between 2:45 p.m. Nov. 4 and 7:40 a.m. Nov. 7, police said.

Paige Helregel, 24, 800 block of Ridge Drive, DeKalb, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane use at 2:12 a.m. Nov. 4 in the 1400 block of West State Street, police said.

Someone smashed a window and stole diamond stud earrings and a Tiffany bracelet were stolen from a home in the 800 block of East Side Drive between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and 6 a.m. Nov. 4, police said.

Andrew Fuhrmann, 43, 1400 block of South Sixth Street, St. Charles, was charged with drunken driving, possession of marijuana, speeding and no insurance at 11:43 p.m. Nov. 3 in the 100 block of Peyton Street, police said.

A Fluke thermal imager and accessories, worth $2,700 total, were stolen from a business in the 2000 block of Geneva Drive between 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 7 a.m. Nov. 1, police said last week.

Kendall County

Timothy Smith, 31, 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Mendota, was charged with drunken driving after he was found sleeping in his running car at 6:35 a.m. Friday near Frazier Road and William Lane, near Sandwich, the sheriff’s office said.

Oswego

Several unspecified items were taken when someone broke into a car in the 200 block of Concord Drive between 7 p.m. Thursday and 12:15 a.m. Friday, police said. Total loss was $1,010.

Sandwich

Daniel Bengtsen, 23, 300 block of East Arnold Street, Sandwich, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of marijuana, and multiple other violations at 1:20 a.m. Friday after he was involved in a traffic crash at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds entrance, police said.
