AURORA — A former East Aurora High School science teacher has been charged with sexual exploitation of a child, police said Wednesday.
Kelly K. Miller, 32, of the 2700 block of Oak Drive, West Dundee, is accused of including two inappropriate photos of herself during texts with one of her 15-year-old male students in late May or June 2011.
City spokesman Dan Ferrelli said Miller turned herself in to Aurora police. According to Ferrelli, Miller posted bond on the misdemeanor charge Tuesday night by posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bail.
Aurora police received a tip about Miller’s alleged behavior on Sept. 19 and immediately began an investigation, Ferrelli said.
East Aurora School District spokesman Clayton Muhammad said the teacher resigned last week.
Muhammad would not say if the School District brought the matter to the attention of police.
Miller’s next court date is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 18 at Aurora Branch Court, 1200 E. Indian Trail.
