Loaded gun, drugs found in car in Aurora

An Iowa man has been charged with armed violence after police found him in possession of a loaded weapon and drugs after being pulled over for speeding Monday morning.
Richard Young, 36, of Council Bluffs, was charged with armed violence, a Class X felony, after he was found traveling 50 mph in a 30 mph zone near Golden Oaks Parkway and Sullivan Road in Aurora, police said.
After he was stopped, police became aware that there was a warrant for Young’s arrest in Kendall County. When they searched Young’s vehicle, they found methamphetamines and a loaded gun, police said.
Young as also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
Someone stole 1,000 feet of copper wire, worth $1,000, sometime between July 24 and Monday from a home that is under construction in the 2900 block of Church Road, police said.
Someone stole a white, 2002 Jeep Cherokee, worth $3,000, sometime between July 14 and Saturday while it was parked in the 1000 block of Kane Street, police said.
Someone smashed the glass door of a business, causing $2,500 damage, sometime between 10:15 p.m. Friday and 6:55 am. Saturday in the 900 block of North Route 59, police said.
Bryant Finner, 33, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon at noon on Saturday in the 600 block of North Randall Road, police said. Police found a loaded weapon and two Halloween masks in Finner’s possession. Finner was also cited for failure to signal, driving on a suspended license and disregarding a stop sign, police said.
