Aurora man allegedly sold marijuana to help pay bills

A 23-year-old Aurora man who was charged with selling marijuana on Monday told police he needed the money to help pay bills.

Police charged Alex Carrera, 600 block of South Broadway Avenue, with felony manufacturing/delivering marijuana and felony possession of marijuana around 5 p.m., after executing a search warrant on his home.

Police found 181 grams of marijuana split between 15 different bags in Carrera’s bedroom.

Aurora

Chad Larson, 28, 0-99 block of South Western Avenue, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane usage at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday after police found him standing next to his parked car in a field in the 0-99 block of North Edgelawn Drive. Police said Larson’s car was parked in the field with its lights on and a door slightly ajar. They found Larson standing outside the car, allegedly intoxicated. He blew a .187 on the portable breath test, police said.

A woman reported that someone stole jewelry, cash, electronics and sports equipment, worth $5,170, sometime between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. July 14 from a vehicle while it was parked in the 1600 block of Premium Outlet Boulevard, police said.

Someone stole tools, worth $1,070, sometime between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Monday from the 1100 block of Bilter Road, police said.

Marissa Lopez, 1100 block of Greenfield Drive, Aurora, was injured at 4:47 p.m. Monday after she was involved in a crash near Independence Drive and Lowell Street, police said. Lopez said she was navigating a curve, and doesn’t remember what happened before the crash.

Daniel Mcfadden, 33, 600 block of Old Indian Trail, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving and screeching tires at 3:29 a.m. Tuesday near North Lake Street and Plum Street, police said.

Darrick House, 41, was picked up on a Kane County arrest warrant at 11:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of North Randall Road, police said. The warrant was for two counts of felony aggravated use of a weapon, and felony firearm identification marking defacement.

Douglas Komes, 55, 2100 block of Third Street, St. Charles, was charged with felony burglary stemming from an incident Friday in Geneva, court records show.

Jesus Barrientos, 43, 2900 block of Shetland Lane, Montgomery, was charged with six counts of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of exploitation stemming from an incident June 14 , 2012, in Kane County, court records show.

Kendall County

Jacob Cline, 21, of Sheridan, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:50 a.m. Friday near Millhurst Road and Fox River Drive in Little Rock Township, deputies said.

A 24-year-old woman reported that a white male in his late 20s exposed himself to her at 1:26 p.m. Thursday at the Boulder Hill Apartments in Montgomery, deputies said. The man got out of his car, wearing only sunglasses, and exposed himself to the woman before driving off in an Oldsmobile Alero, deputies said.

Gene Rios, 24, 700 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and driving without insurance at 2:35 a.m. Saturday after his car ended up in a ditch near Route 71 and East Highpoint Road, deputies said.

Matthew Orton, 34, of Lisbon, was injured in a single-vehicle crash at 11:33 p.m. Friday in the 10000 block of Joliet Road, deputies said. Deputies stopped Orton after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash, and charged him with drunken driving, illegal transportation of alcohol, and other offenses. Orton allegedly struck several mailboxes.

Montgomery

Abel Garcia-Vasquez, 28, 900 block of Fourth Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving at 2:15 a.m. Saturday near Route 30 and Griffin Drive, police said.

Yorkville

Gregory Vondra, 42, of Berwyn, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, driving without insurance, and illegal transportation of alcohol at 2:53 p.m. Friday near Route 126 and Wooden Bridge Drive, police said.
