A Woodridge man faces multiple charges after leading police on a chase throughout Aurora, Oswego and Kendall County early Tuesday morning.
Jerry Williams Jr., 25, was charged with fleeing and eluding a peace officer, drunken driving, reckless driving, obstructing identification, possession of marijuana and no valid license. He was also cited for speeding, improper lane usage, no headlights, disobeying a traffic control device, failure to signal, and no seatbelt, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Kendall County deputies received a call about a man who had driven away from Aurora police during a traffic stop at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday. Williams had allegedly fled from Aurora police and into Oswego where he evaded Oswego officers, as well.
At 12:20 a.m., Kendall County deputies located Williams on Route 71 near Regal Oaks Court. He again drove away, prompting deputies to use a tire deflation device to attempt to stop his vehicle. Williams’ car traveled over the device, deflating his tires, causing him to veer off the roadway.
Deputies were able to approach the vehicle at that time and take Williams into custody.
