Car into lake during snowstorm

Jose Mares of Oswego was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Feb. 27, 2013, on a Kendall County charge of drug induced homicide.

An Aurora woman’s car left the roadway and landed in a lake at the start of Tuesday’s winter storm.
Anika D. Aguilar, of the 1600 block of Trafalgar Lane, Aurora, was not injured after the accident at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday near Meridian Parkway and Meridian Lake Drive.
According to police, Aguilar’s vehicle skidded into the curb as she headed around a curve. She then jumped the opposite curb, and her car came to rest submerged in the lake, police said.
