AURORA — The Aurora East Educational Foundation will host an East Aurora School Board candidate forum next month.
The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. March 7 in the Hawks Auditorium at East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The forum will be moderated by Aurora Alderman Richard Irvin, an East Aurora graduate. Irvin is also an attorney and member of the foundation’s board of directors.
Incumbents Ignacio Cervantes, Stella Gonzalez, Annette Johnson and Richard Leonard, and newcomers Marcella McIntyre Duermit, Zach Montroy, Mary Louise Peryea and Kirsten Strand are running for the board’s five open seats in the April 9 election.
Each of the candidates will make introductory and closing statements. The moderator will also present three general questions that will be answered by each of the candidates prior to questions being asked by the audience.
The forum is open to the public. Spanish-speaking community members can listen and participate with real-time translations via audio headphones.
