An 85-year-old Aurora Township woman with dementia was found safe Wednesday night after she did not return home from a shopping trip, police said.
At around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the woman and her husband went shopping in Geneva, the Kane County sheriff’s office said.
Her husband retuned to their home around 6 p.m., but his wife was not with him. Both the husband and wife suffer from dementia, police said, and he could not recall where they had been.
The woman was found around 9 p.m. by security guards at Westfield Fox Valley Mall in Aurora as they closed up the shopping center for the night, police said. The woman was unharmed.
