Car full of medical equipment stolen

A car filled with thousands of dollars worth of medical equipment was reported stolen from Aurora’s West Side this past week.

A gray, 2012 Hyundai Sonata valued at $26,000 was stolen between 2 and 3 p.m. Thursday, police said. It was parked on the 1300 block of North Highland Avenue.

The car contained several pieces of medical equipment including a compounder, an ambulatory pump and IV pumps with a total value of $35,000, police said. Medical product samples and a bag also were in the car when it was taken, police said.


A water heater and 25 feet of copper, together valued at $2,700, were stolen between Monday and Thursday from a home on the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.

A gold engagement ring, valued at $1,800, was stolen around 9 a.m. Jan. 29 from a pawnshop on the 300 block of West Indian Trail, police said.

An iPhone, $2,200 cash, various pieces of gold jewelry and a Nintendo Wii were stolen between 5:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. Thursday from a home on the 600 block of Fulton Street, police said.

Denise T. Anderson, 32, of the 200 block of Roberts Lane, Aurora, was charged with two counts of felony theft and two counts of financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday on the 400 block of South Fordham Avenue, police said.

Kendall County

A handgun valued at $400 was reported stolen at 1:17 p.m. Thursday from a home on the 2600 block of Bristol Ridge Road, in Bristol Township, Kendall County sheriff’s deputies said.


Carly Hartz, 22, and Corey Hartz, 19, both of the 100 block of Amherst Circle, Oswego, were taken by ambulance about 1:36 a.m. Feb. 3 to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, after the black 2006 Kia Optima being driven by Corey Hartz left Plainfield Road and struck a brick entryway barrier on Linden Drive, police said.

A 23-year-old resident of the 300 block of Cascade Lane at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday reported “receiving numerous calls from a blocked number at various hours, and usually several over the span of a few minutes,” police said. Police were investigating her complaint.

Mark D. Morisette, 42, of the 2400 block of Deer Point Drive, Montgomery, suffered a minor injury Tuesday after his vehicle struck one being driven by an 18-year-old Montgomery man near Fernwood Road and Sonora Drive, police said.


An unidentified passenger in a 2001 Ford Mustang was flown by helicopter about 8:17 p.m. Feb. 2 to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, after a car ran off the roadway and struck a tree on the south side of Route 34 near Autumn Creek Boulevard, police said. The crash was under investigation.

Jose Martinez, 50, Berwyn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol at 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 500 block of South Bridge Road, police said.
