Three people were injured late Thursday night in a crash in DeKalb County.
The DeKalb County sheriff’s office said a witness reported that a vehicle driven by Howard C. Larson, of the 13500 block of Bastian Road in Hinckley, crossed the centerline on Somonauk road south of Hidden Oaks Road at about 11:14 p.m. Thursday and struck the rear of a tandem trailer.
Larson’s vehicle then veered across the road and struck a third vehicle head-on, police said.
Larson, 94, was taken to Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit head-on — Ed White, 48, of the 1400 block of Suydam Road in Sandwich — was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
White’s passenger, Gloria White, 54, of the same address, was taken to Valley West, police said.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
