No injuries in Oswego school bus crash

The more than two dozen children aboard an Oswego school bus escaped injury when the bus collided with another vehicle Monday.

Kelly Salisbury, 55, of the 300 block of Garden Circle, Yorkville, was driving the school bus with 27 Oswego School District students on board when the bus collided with a vehicle driven by Barry Adamson, 61, of the 400 block of Bayberry Drive, Oswego, at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Oswego police said. The crash occurred at Bayberry Drive and Bentson Street, police said.

No tickets were issued in the collision and no one was injured, police said.


Elton J. Watkins, of Montgomery, was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center after a three-car crash at 12:04 p.m. Monday at Orchard Road and Galena Boulevard. Aurora police said. Another driver, Frank C. Zonzo, of Montgomery, was charged with failure to reduce speed after he rear-ended Watkins’ vehicle, police said. No further information was released.

Damelys Hernandez, of Aurora, was taken to an area hospital complaining of hip and chest pain after a two-car accident at 2:22 p.m. Monday at Lakelawn Boulevard and Iowa Avenue, police said. Hernandez was charged with failure to reduce speed after she struck a vehicle driven by Cesar A. Vazquez, of Aurora, police said. Vazquez refused treatment for a head injury and was charged for no insurance, police said.

A semi-trailer filled with three pallets of recyclable goods, valued at a total of $5,000, was stolen around 3:16 a.m. Monday from a business in the 2800 block of Duke Parkway, police said. Two suspects were captured on videotape using a white semi-tractor to remove the trailer, police said.

Copper pipe valued at $3,000 was stolen between Dec. 18 and Jan. 5 from a vacant home in the 400 block of High Street, police said Tuesday.

Someone damaged a steering column and gear shifter between 7 a.m. and 7:12 p.m. Monday in an unlocked van parked at the Aurora Transportation Center, police said. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

A wedding ring, wallet, bank cards and gym bag, valued at a total of $7,390, were stolen around 2 a.m. Tuesday from a car parked in a driveway in the 800 block of Teasel Lane, police said. The vehicle’s window was also smashed.

Between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:20 a.m. Monday someone shot BBs at a car parked in the 700 block of Concord Street, causing $1,000 in damage, police said.


Jose A. Holguin, 29, of the 300 block of Grand Avenue, Aurora, was charged at 9:25 p.m. Saturday with drunken driving and improper lane use at Kirk Road and Wilson St., Batavia police said.

Kendall County

Todd E. Logue, 51, of the 300 block of McHugh Road, Yorkville, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs at 5:37 p.m. Monday at Routes 47 and 34, deputies said.
