Milk thieves strike at Geneva doorsteps

More than 40 bottles of specially delivered Oberweis milk, orange juice and other dairy products were stolen recently from the milk boxes of 11 homes, Geneva police said.

Police said the thefts of one-half gallon and one gallon bottles of milk, orange juice, eggs, cheese and butter occurred during early morning deliveries on Jan. 4.

Dairy thefts were reported by residents in the 700 to 1500 blocks of South Street, 1700 block of Loran Drive, 1600 block of Kummer Court, 800 block of Brigham Way, 1400 to 1800 blocks of Fargo Boulevard, 1400 block of Fairway Circle, 1200 to 1400 blocks of Keim Circle and 900 block of Harbor Town Court.

Five milk coolers worth $25 each also were stolen on the route.

Aurora

A laptop computer and radar detector, valued at a total of $785, were stolen between 2 and 3:10 p.m. Thursday from a car parked near Ashland Avenue and Gates Street. A window on the unlocked car has been broken by a rock, police said.

The front door was forced open and copper pipe, valued at $700, was stolen sometime between Jan. 3 and Thursday from the basement of a vacant home in the 200 block of Lawndale Avenue. This is the second copper theft at the home, police said.

Margaret M. Berger, of Aurora, was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center after a two-car accident at 7:36 a.m. Thursday at Downer Place and Fordham Avenue. Erika E. Blomster, of Aurora, was charged with failure to yield at an intersection after striking Berger, police said.

Diego Hernandez, 19, of the 600 block of Fulton Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving on a suspended license, no insurance, and speeding at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Union Street, police said.

Ivan Patino, 18, of the 700 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged with violating electronic monitoring, obstructing justice and improper walking on a highway at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Aurora Police Department, police said.

Adriana J. Chavez, 22, of the 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and marijuana possession at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 0-99 block of East Benton Street, police said.

Oswego

Dana V. Rott, 18, of the 100 block of Oswego Plains Drive, Oswego, was charged with drunken driving, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and improper lane use at 4:30 a.m. Friday at Grove Road and Old Reserve Road, police said.

Kristina S. Waters, 28, of the 300 block of East Bloomfield Circle, Oswego, was charged Friday morning with retail theft after she left a store in the 2300 block of Route 34 with $177 worth items, Oswego police said. She also was charged with fleeing to elude and driving with a suspended license.

Ashley L. Case, 19, of the 0-99 block of Gastville, Aurora, was charged Friday night wih possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license at Route 30 and Fifth Street, Oswego police said.

Plano

Julian M. Fuentes, 21, of the 200 block of College Street, Sandwich, was charged with resisting a peace officer, and Genoveva Parsons, of the 0-99 block of Rock Street, Plano, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, on Thursday in the 800 block of South Hugh Street, during an investigation of a suspicious incident, police said.

Somone Friday night or early Saturday morning broke into the office of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources division of fisheries office, in the 5900 block of Fox River Drive, Plano, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department said. Deputies said nothing was missing, although the burglary is being investigated.
