The general manager of the Indian Oaks Country Club in Shabbona has been charged with stealing more than $10,000 from the country club, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said Thursday it was contacted by the country club in December about a possible series of thefts by general manager Christopher J. Paterson, 42, of the 600 block of South Main Street in Naperville.
Police said their investigation found that Paterson took more than $10,000 in cash from the country club, wrote checks for more than $500 for his personal use, and did not reimburse the country club for five sets of golf clubs with an estimated value of more than $500.
Paterson is charged with felony theft over $10,000, and two counts of felony theft of $500 to $10,000, police said.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
