Vandals blow up mailboxes in Plano

The Kendall County sheriff’s office is seeking information about an incident involving explosive devices put in mailboxes Sunday night in Plano. Around 10:43 p.m., residents near Little Rock Road and Leslie Lane reported hearing a loud explosion. Several mailboxes were then found damaged by an explosive device. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 630-553-5999.
Copper pipes valued at $1,200 were stolen between Jan. 5 and noon Wednesday from a vacant home that was undergoing renovation in the 400 block of South Broadway. A basement window on the home was also broken, police said.
Keith A. Stadtfield, 32, of Plainfield, was charged with drunken driving and failure to reduce speed at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday at Ogden Avenue and Eola Road, police said.
Diana R. Mujica-Cortes, 23, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, Aurora, was charged with felony retail theft at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Chicago Premium Outlets mall, police said.
Juan Carlos Ponce, 30, of the 600 block of North Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, following too closely, improper lane use and no insurance at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday at Galena Boulevard and Lancaster Avenue, police said.
Amber F. Rayford, of the 1700 block of Molitor Road, Aurora, was charged with felony theft and felony possession of a bank identification card, at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at her home, police said.
A fishing boat was stolen sometime over the past several months from a hunting and fishing club in the 6900 block of Route 71 in Oswego Township, sheriff’s deputies said. The theft was not reported until Tuesday, police said.
Kendall County Crimestoppers is looking for information on an SUV stolen Dec. 28 or 29 from the driveway of a residence in the 7000 block of Regal Oak Court in Yorkville. The vehicle is a white 1998 Jeep Wrangler with Illinois license plate number RZW195. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 630-553-5999.
