Three dozen tickets from Oswego traffic detail

Oswego police wrote 36 citations for traffic-related violations during an extra traffic enforcement detail over the holidays.
The detail, funded by an Illinois Department of Transportation grant, focused on the use of seat belts and drunken driving. It was conducted between Dec. 21 and Jan. 1.
Citations were written for 30 safety belt violations; one child restraint violation; two speeding; one uninsured motorist; one suspended license; and one drug arrest.
Aurora
Jordan M. Pitts, age not given, was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at Edgelawn Drive and Illinois Avenue, Aurora police said. Pitts was a passenger in a car driven by Brooke M. Grimes, age not given, of the 800 block of Taylor Avenue, Aurora. Pitts was treated at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora and released. Grimes was charged with failure to yield at an intersection.
Copper metal welding leads valued at $700 were taken between Saturday and Monday from the back of a truck parked at a construction site in the 200 block of East Sullivan Road, Aurora police said.
Montgomery
A house in the 0-100 block of Sonora Drive, Montgomery, was damaged Monday, possibly by soft pellets from an air rifle, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department said.
