Police squad cars were stationed in front of several Aurora schools Friday morning. Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the cars were not responding to any call, but where there to ease any lingering anxiety parents might have.
One week earlier, 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.
“We’ve asked patrol officers to step up visibility around Aurora schools to ease any anxieties in reference to the tragedy in Connecticut,” Ferrelli said.
