Vandals damage Yorkville football, baseball fields

Someone did significant damage when they drove over the football and baseball fields at Yorkville High School at 797 Game Farm Road, Yorkville police said.

The incident occurred sometime before 7:30 a.m. Monday, police said Thursday. The driver left deep tire tracks in the fields and tore up significant amounts of grass, police said. Total loss was $4,000, police said.


Stephen McGhee, 53, 0-99 block of Briargate Circle, Sugar Grove, was injured when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday near Williams and Lake streets, police said. McGhee said he was going out to eat and did not remember hitting the pole. He was charged with drunken driving, no insurance and improper lane use, police said.

Rodolfo Gallardo Jr., 21, 700 block of Morningside Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felonies possession and delivery of marijuana at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday at his home, police said.

Carlos Reyes Jr., 20, 800 block of North May Street, Aurora, was charged with felony burglary at 3 a.m. Wednesday in Aurora, police said.

About $3,100 worth of copper piping was stolen after someone broke the window of a home in the 200 block of South Union Street between Nov. 28 and Tuesday, police said.


Kelly Degand, 34, no known address, was charged with retail theft at 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of Route 34, police said. Police said Degand stole 1,087.71 worth of merchandise.


Emily Thedford, 34, 600 block of Terrace Way, Plano, was charged with drunken driving, improper lighting and no rear registration at 1:16 a.m. Thursday near North and Bill streets, police said.
