SANDWICH — The Sandwich School District’s Foundation for Educational Excellence has raised more than $300,000 to help supplement positive programs and services for students.
Superintendent Rick Schmitt announced this week that the foundation’s next Auction and Dance will be March 2, at the Fox Valley Community Center, 1406 Suydam Road in Sandwich. The public is invited to support the activity.
The foundation was formed in 1994 to support, promote, supplement and enrich educational programs and activities of students, and to develop links with businesses and civic organizations.
Schmitt said even though the foundation works in close communication with the school board, it has its own Board of Trustees and is completely independent of the board of education.
Foundation funds are obtained from contributions made by individuals and corporations, as well as through other planned fund-raising activities.
For more information on the foundation, contact the school district’s administrative office at 815-786-2187.
