Aurora police took reports for four cars that were burglarized over the weekend after the owners left electronics in plain view.

According to police, between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 9:10 a.m. Saturday three cars in the 2700 and 2800 blocks of Village Green Drive were broken into. The burglars took an iPod and GPS, worth $700, from one unlocked car, police said. Someone smashed the window of a second car that had a GPS in plain view, police said. Total loss was $700, police said. The owner of a third car left a GPS hanging in the front window and someone smashed the window and took it, police said. Total loss was $550, police said. A GPS worth $220 was stolen from a fourth car in the 2300 block of Village Green, police said.

Aurora

Salvador Cortez, 45, 300 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies obstructing justice and possession of a controlled substance as well as misdemeanors failure to signal and suspended license at 9:24 p.m. Saturday at his home, police said.

Chad Johnson, 25, 23500 block of Pavilion Place, Plainfield, was charged with drunken driving, improper parking and possession of marijuana at 7:41 p.m. Saturday near Eola Road and Ogden Avenue, police said.

Cortez King, 17, 200 block of North Kendall Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies robbery, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and mob action at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of North Kendall Street, police said.

Milan Thomas, 18, 700 block of Liberty Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies robbery, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and mob action at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Aurora Police Station, police said.

Lisa Abdallah, 41, 4800 block of South Throop Street, Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft at 4:55 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of West Galena Boulevard, police said.

About $5,000 worth of copper wire was taken from the 600 block of Wingpointe Drive between noon Nov. 27 and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Kendall County

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on a retail theft that occurred at 6:41 p.m. Sunday at the BP gas station, 303 E. Route 71, Newark. The sheriff’s office said the suspect is a woman who was wearing with a dark hooded sweatshirt and lighter jeans or pants. She arrived in a white 4-door car and took several items, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999. Callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Yorkville

Daniel Cabrera, 26, 600 block of Sheridan Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, speeding and improper lane use at 12:03 a.m. Saturday near Route 71 and Legion Road, police said.
