Car burglars strike North Aurora neighborhoods

North Aurora police are investigating reports of seven car burglaries that took place throughout the village since Nov. 19. Four took place in the RCA subdivision, two in the Highlands subdivision, and one in the Timber Oaks subdivision. In four of the burglaries, someone used a large rock or brick to break a window, police said.
Police said an iPhone, two wallets, and four purses were taken during the break-ins.
Two cars were burglarized on Nov. 19 in the 300 block of Harmony Drive. On Nov. 20, two cars were burglarized, one in the 600 block of Birchwood, and one in the 0-99 block of North Cherrytree Court. On Nov. 23, a car parked in the 200 block of Abbeywood Lane was burglarized, and on Monday, two vehicles, one in the 300 block of Basswood Drive, and on in the 600 block of Princeton Drive, were burglarized, police said.

Someone stole clothing, shoes, cash, a GPS unit, and a gaming system, worth $2,485, between 11 a.m. Tuesday and 5:05 a.m. Wednesday from a car parked in the 2400 block of Coach and Surrey Lane, police said.
Alexis Shaw, 400 block of East Galena Boulevard, Aurora, was injured at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bike near Downer Place and Root Street, police said. Police said the offending vehicle blew a stop sign, struck Shaw, and then left the scene.
Christopher Rosario, 23, 700 block of Lewisburg Lane, Aurora, was charged with prostitution at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Jackson Street, police said.
Peyton Walker, 31, 1300 block of Monomoy Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies battery and violation of electronic monitoring at 8:55 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, police said.
James Simmons, 28, 200 block of North Buell Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felonies residential burglary, possession of marijuana, and manufacturing or delivering marijuana on Monday near North Highland Avenue and Indian Trail Road, police said.
