Aurora man hospitalized after DUI crash

Josue Cid-Zaca, 23, of the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving in a one-car crash with injuries at 9:38 p.m. Monday at Grand Avenue and Plum Street, Aurora police said. According to police, Cid-Zaca’s vehicle hit a curb and then a tree, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
Cid-Zaca was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, police said. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was still at the hospital in stable condition, a Provena spokesman said.
A trucking manager reported a motor vehicle theft that occurred between Saturday and Sunday in the 800 block of Bilter Road, police said. According to a report, seven semi spare tires and a semi trailer was stolen. Stolen property is estimated at $13,406, police said.
An Aurora man reported a burglary that occurred at 1:30 a.m. Monday at a store in the 300 block of West Indian Trail, police said. According to a report, someone smashed the front glass door of the shop with a hammer and stole two Sony Playstation 3s. Damage and stolen property is estimated at $690, police said.
Damon Helvie, 31, 100 block of James Street, Montgomery, was charged with drunken driving, speeding and improper lane use at 12:05 a.m. Sunday near South Lake and Cross streets, police said.
Dominique Allen, 26, of Plainfield, was charged with drunken driving, unlawful parking, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and expired registration at 4:50 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue, police said.
Lawrence Brown Jr., 65, 500 block of South River Street, was charged with drunken driving at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday at his home, police said.
Marvin Dowdy, 29, 300 block of Turner Road, Aurora, was charged with felony unlawful restraint, interfering with the report of domestic violence and knowingly damaging property at his home at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Jose Urena, 40, 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies obstruction of identification and possession of a fraudulent ID card at 8:55 p.m. Sunday in Aurora, police said.
Juan Sanchez, 18, 600 block of Jefferson Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies residential burglary and theft at 10:20 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Brighton Circle, police said.
Michael Huerta, 37, 1200 block of Lebanon Street, Montgomery, was charged with aggravated drunken driving at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Sherman Avenue and Douglas Road, police said. Huerta had a revoked driver’s license and no insurance, police said.
A 30-year-old Iowa man reported arson that occurred between Nov. 19 and Monday on Burr Oak Road east of Griswold Springs Road in Little Rock Township, police said. According to a report, the man found a Porta Potty at his job site was damaged by an explosive device.
About $2,000 worth of steel was stolen from and around a storage building on a farm in the 15000 block of Fennel Road in Newark between Friday and Tuesday, police said.
A 59-year-old Montgomery man reported identity theft that occurred on Nov. 10, the Kendall County Sheriff’s office said. According to a report, two checks were stolen from the man’s home and cashed for $1,000 at a local bank.
