West Aurora seeking Santa donations

Updated: November 27, 2012 8:33PM

AURORA - West Aurora High School students are seeking donations of toys, coupons, gift certificates and baked goods for their annual Breakfast with Santa community event from 8:30-11 a.m. on Dec. 8 in the school cafeteria at 1201 W. New York St., Aurora.

The event is organized and operated by students in West’s Co-op Work Programs and Culinary Arts Academy. It starts with a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, cereal, muffins and beverages. Then there are pictures with Santa, crafts and games, an inflatable jumping apparatus, a raffle and dessert decorating. A cakewalk is scheduled as well, for which student organizers are seeking donations of cakes, brownies, muffins and cookies.

To donate an item for the breakfast, drop it off on or before Dec. 7 at the main desk at West High.

Proceeds from the event go to the West High Co-op Work Programs and the Culinary Arts Academy. The funds help offset various program costs and go toward the employer appreciation banquet in the spring.

Ticket prices are $9 per person or $8 for those who bring two non-perishable food items for the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry.
