A 19-year-old Hinckley man is facing attempted arson charges after police said they were able to link him to a failed car bombing.
According to the Sandwich Police Department, at 12:10 a.m. June 23, someone tossed a Molotov cocktail at a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 1600 block of Vale Street. Neighbors extinguished the device, which did not break when it hit the car, police said.
Sandwich police were able to lift fingerprints from the intact bottle. They submitted the prints to the state crime lab, which came back with a match.
Michael Cain of the 300 block of Rickert Street was charged with attempted arson, police said. He later turned himself in to Sandwich police.
Police could not say why Cain alleged tossed the Molotov cocktail.
