YORKVILLE — There will be even more partying going on around Yorkville’s Riverfront Park.
White Water Ice Cream has opened a new companion business, Party Pad, at 131 E. Hydraulic St., adjacent to the Riverfront Park.
Owner Robyn Sutcliff said the Party Pad, located in what was formerly Creative Kernels adjacent to the ice cream shop, will offer “Sunday Ice Cream Days” from noon to 5 p.m. through the winter.
The newly decorated space also can be rented for birthday parties, baby and wedding showers, bridge parties, and other small events year round.
Upcoming planned events at the Party Pad include Pics with Pets from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Pics with Kids from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 2. During these events, ice cream, hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available.
“This is a new place for parties in town and it offers in-door seating for White Water Ice Cream in hot or cold weather,” Sutcliff said.
Sutcliff said the Party Pad can hold up to 16 people. Decorated in a red, white and black motif, the Pad includes tables and chairs, a reflecting disco ball, and an ice cream toppings bar. Music is available, or people renting the facility can bring their own.
“This is another thing for people to come down to the river for,” Sutcliff said. “It’s a family place; it brings people together.”
