BATAVIA — One person was killed and two others injured in a head-on, two-vehicle crash in Batavia late Wednesday.
Amy P. Holtorf, 43, of the 400 block of Mill Street in Batavia, was driving north on Randall Road just south of Mill Creek around 11:52 p.m. Wednesday when her Honda Odyssey crossed the center lane and struck a southbound Nissan Rogue, police said.
“That’s the only thing clearly apparent,” said Detective Sgt. Shawn Mazza, adding that the Odyssey struck the Rogue nearly head-on.
Holtorf was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
One of the two people in the Nissan was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other occupant of the Nissan was flown by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in critical condition. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, police said.
Mazza said that Batavia police were withholding the names of the people injured in the Nissan pending family notification.
