Aurora cops: DUI suspect fell asleep at wheel

Apolinar Marquez-Ortiz, 33, of the 900 block of Palace Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving at 4:40 a.m. Sunday after police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car near Route 30 and Hill Avenue. Police also cited Marquez-Ortiz for driving with no insurance
Thadius Nadolski, 1400 block of Liberty Street, Aurora, was charged with disobeying a red light after a two-car crash with injuries at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday near Lincoln Avenue and New York Street, police said. Police said Nadolski struck a vehicle driven by Laura Fors, 500 block of Clark Street, Aurora. Fors was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
Luis Leon, 27, 500 block of Spruce Street, Aurora, was charged with felony domestic battery and two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery, at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Aurora police station, police said.
Frederick Howard, Jr., 42, of Danville, was charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Aurora police station, police said.
Alexander Garza, 28, 700 block of Orchard Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, and felony manufacturing or delivering marijuana at 6:09 p.m. Monday near Wilder Street and Plum Street, police said.
Catherine Hill, 27, 1800 block of Tall Oaks Drive, Aurora, was charged with felony knowingly damaging property, and domestic battery at 10:36 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Molitor Road, police said.
Carlos Bustamante, 33, 200 block of Fourth Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of marijuana, felony manufacturing or delivering marijuana, armed violence, and violation of the FOID card act, at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at his residence, police said.
Someone scratched a vehicle, causing $3,000 in damages, between 6 and 7:23 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Fulton Street, police said.
A computer, phone and jewelry, worth $27,175, were stolen between 8:25 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday from a home in the 2600 block of Clara Avenue, police said.
Someone slashed the tires and scratched the paint of a vehicle, causing $1,386 in damages, between 7 p.m. Monday and 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue, police said.
About $2,000 worth of copper piping was stolen between Nov. 8 and Tuesday from a home in the 1000 block of California Avenue, police said.
No one was injured when a van collided with a school bus as it stopped for a railroad crossing in Yorkville Tuesday afternoon, police said. The school bus was filled with passengers when it was struck by the Toyota van on Route 47 near Hydraulic Avenue at 2:50 p.m., police said. No charges were filed.
