Geneva man faces order of protection, battery charges

James A. Schnaitman Sr., 42, of the 800 block of Valley Lane, Geneva, was charged with felony violence of an order of protection and misdemeanor domestic battery (bodily harm to a family member) on Nov. 7 in the 800 block of Valley Lane, Geneva police said. Police said they were dispatched on a report of domestic battery and found “a woman screaming and lying face down on the driveway,” while Schnaitman held her to the ground. Police said children witnessed the altercation.


Two men were charged with obstructing a police officer after squads responded to a disturbance at the Batavia Apartments at 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of East Wilson Street. Dezmon A. Greene, 27, of the 1200 block of Wild Rye Court, Plainfield, was charged with obstructing a police officer and battery after he approached the scene and pushed an officer out of the way, Batavia police said. Terrance L. Latson, 34, of the 1300 block of Tenntson Lane, Naperville, was charged with obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest after he refused to cooperate and struggled with officers, Batavia police said.

Between $500 and $1,000 worth of scrap metal was stolen from an industrial company Saturday in the 1300 block of Paramount Parkway, Batavia police said.

Michael E. Dillenburg, 24, of the 700 block Culler Street, St. Charles, was charged with drunken driving, DUI over the 0.08 legal limit, having unsafe tires and no insurance Nov. 4 in the 500 block of Western Avenue, Batavia police said.


Two juveniles were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor Friday night at Route 30 and Fifth Street, Oswego police said.

Two male juveniles, one 16 years old and the other 17 years old, were charged late Friday night with two counts of street racing, one count of speeding, one count of failure to wear a seatbelt and one count of having no insurance at Routes 34 and 71, Oswego police said.


Brian M. Yarbrough, 25, of Plano, was charged early Saturday morning with domestic battery and unlawful interference with reporting of domestic violence after an incident in the 0-99 block of Chrissy Drive, Sandwich, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office said. Yarbrough was taken to LaSalle County Jail, where bond was expected to be set Sunday.
