Aurora food drive looking to fill truck

Updated: November 8, 2012 8:34PM

The Jewel Food Store at Douglas and Route 30 in Montgomery will try to “fill the truck” with food Saturday.

The event is part of the yearly Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry. The drive began Nov. 1 and will continue through the day before Thanksgiving.

On Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., food drive organizers will try to fill a 14-foot box truck with food that is to go to the pantry’s storage warehouse.

Dan Dolan, a drive organizer, said The River radio station will do live remotes during the day, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m.

Participating in the drive is easy — people can buy pre-filled bags of $5, $10 and $15 at the store, or can bring their own food to donate.
