Foul play is not suspected in the death of a 39-year-old Aurora woman whose body was found in a vacant home on the city’s East Side, police said.
A relative was searching for the woman, who had been missing since Tuesday, and found her body at the home in the 2600 block of Moss Lane around 4:35 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The woman lived in the same block, and had been known to frequent the vacant home in the past, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said there was no sign of forced entry to the home, and that the vacant home has been used as a shelter by squatters. It was unclear whether the property was under foreclosure.
Shakeita Jones, 25, 5400 block of West Congress Boulevard, Chicago; Akeena Willis, 27, 1400 block of Long Avenue, Chicago; and Pamela Hudson, 27, 1800 block of South Drake Street, Chicago, were all charged with felonies burglary and retail theft at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday at the Westfield Fox Valley mall, police said.
A white gold wedding band, worth $3,000, was stolen from a home in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue between Oct. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
A Direct TV satellite dish, worth $1,000, was stolen from the 300 block of South Evanslawn Avenue between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, police said.
One person was injured in a two-car crash at 1:41 p.m. Thursday near Galena Boulevard and Smith Boulevard, police said. Esther Mora of the 600 block of North Rosedale Avenue, Aurora, was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center, but a condition report was not available, police said. Jawhar Balaney, 400 block of North Cass Avenue, Westmont, was charged with improper lane use, police said. Police did not release either driver’s age.
Oswego police reported two different arrests Thursday of juveniles for possession of marijuana. One was a 15-year old male arrested at Oswego High School. The other was a 16-year-old male arrested in the 1500 block of Harvey Road.
