An Oswego teen accused of running over a Montgomery police officer is facing a new misdemeanor theft charge.
The veteran officer was seriously injured in September when he was hit by a car driven by Kendall Collier, 19, 100 block of Linden Drive, Oswego, police said. Collier was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence. Collier was apparently fleeing a party where someone had fired shots, police said.
On Thursday, police said Collier was charged with misdemeanor theft. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies took a report of a bottle of rum being stolen from a business in the 0-99 block of Light Road on July 27.
Kendall County deputies completed an investigation into the retail theft and issued a warrant for his arrest last week. Collier is still in jail for the previous charges.
Danielle Clasberry, 1300 block of Pearl Street, Aurora, was charged with failure to reduce speed at 9:46 p.m. Monday after an accident with injuries at Farnsworth Avenue and Fenton Street, police said. Police said Clasberry struck a vehicle driven by Maria Lopez, 1000 block of Second Avenue, Aurora, who was taken to a hospital for treatment. No further information was available.
Two people were injured in a three-car crash at 1:16 p.m. Tuesday near Galena Boulevard and Highland Avenue, police said. Herlinda Calderon, 500 block of Midfield Drive, Aurora, and passenger Cecilia Umana, were taken to Provena-Mercy Medical Center, but no condition reports were available. Tamara Benson was charged with disobeying a traffic signal, police said.
Zennada Blake-Hughey, 29, 0-99 block of Aster Street, Springfield, Mass., and Victor Brown, 52, 0-99 block of 15th Street, Norwich, Conn., were both charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor marijuana possession at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday near McCoy Drive and North Eola Road, police said.
One person was injured in a three-car crash at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday near Route 34 and Kendall Point, police said. Jennifer Sternberg, 29, 700 block of Bellvue Circle, Oswego, was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center, but a condition report was not available. Another driver, Benjamin Mullenbach, 24, 400 block of Kensington Drive, Oswego, was charged with failure to reduce speed, police said.
Brenden Wiskur, 18, 4500 block of Deames Street, Plano, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, speeding in a construction area and no insurance at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday in the Plano Police Department parking lot, 111 E. Main St., police said. Officers saw Wiskur speeding in a construction zone on Route 34 near Needham Road and made the stop in the parking lot, police said.
Silvia Heimann, 49, 45W600 block of Raymond Road, Big Rock, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane use at 8:34 p.m. Wednesday near Route 47 and Boombah Boulevard, police said.
