OSWEGO — Village President Brian LeClercq wants residents to weigh in on Metra’s new strategic plan, in hopes that the village will come out in support of a new station and rail line extension.
Metra has released an online survey asking for commuters’ opinions on the agency’s strategic plan. The survey asks residents about their vision for Metra and asks them to prioritize plans for new capital investments.
Leclercq asked residents to write in a request for an Oswego extension and station.
“This is the perfect opportunity to encourage Metra to expand its services to Oswego and turn the Park-N-Ride at the corner of Mill and Orchard into a station,” LeClercq wrote in an e-mail. “Not only would this be of great convenience to the commuters who currently use the Park-N-Ride, but this would bring economic stimulus to the area, developing new business and with it, new employment opportunities.”
The survey is available through Nov. 12 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/strategicplan2.
