Road rage incident leads to arrest of Aurora man

Douglas R. Komes, of the 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged with disorderly conduct, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance after a two-vehicle crash that started an altercation at 12:52 p.m. Friday at Mitchell Road and Aurora Avenue, police said. Police said Komes’ car side-swiped another vehicle in traffic and the two drivers exchanged words. Komes then followed the other vehicle and rammed into its tailgate, which caused Komes’ car to start smoking, police said. When a passenger in the second vehicle got out and tried to warn Komes that his car was smoking, Komes tried to start a fist fight, police said. The second vehicle then drove off. When Komes’ car ran off the roadway, Komes jumped out and rolled on the ground, and the car eventually stopped on railroad tracks, police said.
There were no charges after a man driving a car owned by the city of Aurora became distracted by an electronic device, and the car jumped the curb and struck a fire hydrant at 12:02 a.m. Sunday on Hafenrichter Road near Farnsworth Avenue, police said. Police would not release further information.
Carlos Ramirez was injured in a bike-vehicle accident at 5:33 p.m. Friday on McCoy Drive at Asbury Drive. Amy R. Geniesse was charged with failure to yield while turning left. Police would not release further information.
Jaime R. Vasquez, 17, of the 1600 block of Reckinger Road, Aurora, was charged with felony drug possession Sunday at Front and Jefferson streets, police said.
Ray J. Flores, 30, of the 100 block of South LaSalle Street, Aurora, was charged with felony drug possession at 3 a.m. Sunday at his home, police said.
Jose I. Diaz, 27, of the 300 block of Stuart Avenue, and Antonio Garcia, 30, of the 200 block of Linn Court, both Aurora, were charged with manufacturing or delivering between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine and felony drug possession at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 0-99 block of West Galena Boulevard, police said.
Terrell Hillsman-Smith, 17, of the 100 block of Chestnut Street, Aurora, was charged with escaping electronic monitoring at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at his home, police said.
Gustavo Davila-Barron, 32, of the 1100 block of Homer Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony drug possession at 10 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Superior Street, police said.
Deshawn M. Shaw, 19, of the 200 block of Schiller Street, Aurora, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon, all felonies, at 10:51 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue, police said.
Carina Cruz, 22, of the 2000 block of Best Place, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving at 4:45 a.m. Sunday less than a block from her home, police said.
Kelvin Hester, 50, of Chicago, was charged with felony forgery last week at Indian Trail and Orchard Road, police said.
Earl A. M. Ross, 26, of the 1700 block of 1700 Molitor Road, Aurora, was charged with felony aggravated battery to a pregnant person and two counts of domestic battery last week at his home, police said.
Lisa M. Aquino, 42, of the 1600 block of Bartson Lane, Aurora, was charged with felony drug possession, drug paraphernalia, illegal possession or transportation of liquor and obstructing justice at 3 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Grant Place, police said.
Mary E. Cantu, 41, of the 200 block of South Westlawn Avenue, Aurora, was charged with two counts of felony forgery at 7:10 p.m. Friday at her home, police said.
Adelelmo Corona, 41, of the 700 block of Benton Street, Aurora, was charged with theft, forgery, obstructing justice and financial identification theft, all felonies, at 12:35 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Hill Avenue, police said.
Curt J. Dony, 46, of Carol Stream, was charged with drunken driving at 7:12 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of McClure Road, police said.
Marilyn A. Glover, 23, of the 400 block of North River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony property damage last week at her home, police said.
The front windshield of a car was smashed last week in the city of Aurora commuter lot on Lincoln Avenue near Spring Street, police said. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Michael A. Rice, 41, of the 200 block of Amie Avenue, Hinckley, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use, hit-and-run and no insurance after his vehicle left the road and rolled into a cornfield at 8:55 p.m. Sunday, sheriff’s deputies said. Rice fled from the car and was found trying to leave the cornfield by firefighters, deputies said.
Sergio Foster, 21, of the 1000 block of Golden Oaks Parkway, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, endangering the life of a child, disobeying a no-passing zone, and disobeying a stop sign, after he was stopped with a 9-month-old child in the vehicle at 1:20 a.m. Sunday at Montgomery and Douglas roads, police said.
Between Sept. 21 and 24, someone took six locomotive diesel starter batteries, valued at $5,000, from outside a business in the 900 block of Route 71 in Newark, police said.
Adam N. Coe, 30, of the 0-99 block of Cayman Drive, Montgomery, was charged with hit-and-run and failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident after his vehicle struck a tree, culvert and fence around 1 a.m. Sunday, police said.
