As temperatures and much-needed rain fell across the Fox Valley this past week, moms and dads, tired of keeping little hands and minds busy, heaved sighs of relief.
With school bells ringing — and parents now singing — the start of a fresh year of classroom adventures has officially begun.
Accompanying that kick-off comes new books, new desks, new faces, new policies, new challenges, new dreams. And it’s all wrapped up in a blur of activity that paints a colorful snapshot of life here in the Fox Valley.
Chattering students rolled off big yellow buses, as hallways filled and lockers slammed and principals greeted and teachers directed.
And later, football players sweated — though perhaps not as much as those sixth-graders just entering junior high.
On the field or in the classrooms, there will be days when the points come easy; and days it feels as if it’s always fourth and long.
But it’s all part of the excitement. All part of the anticipation. That’s why we thought it would be fun to celebrate this new year with a gallery of photos that capture the emotional fresh start.
Happy School Days to all the teachers, support staff, students and administrators across our communities.
And to all those exhausted parents, let the homework begin.
