SUGAR GROVE — A Sugar Grove woman is facing two felony charges after a drunken driving crash in May, police said Monday.
Natalie N. Teruel, 34, of Sugar Lane, was arrested over the weekend on a warrant charging her with aggravated DUI and obstructing justice, both class 4 felonies, police said.
At about 10 p.m. May 20, Sugar Grove police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 56 west of Galena Boulevard. No one was at the scene when officers arrived, but Teruel was found walking away from the site, police said.
Teruel told officers that she was a passenger in the vehicle, and not the driver, police said. But police determined that she actually was the driver, and had been driving on a suspended license, police said.
In addition to the felony charges, Teruel was also charged with driving on a suspended license, misdemeanor DUI and improper lane usage.
She was being held on $20,000 bail Monday at the Kane County jail, police said.
