Five hurt in Butterfield crashes

Five people were hospitalized after two crashes that closed Butterfield Road in Aurora for three hours.
According to police, at 7:27 a.m. Thursday Kirt Feinstein hit another car from behind two or three times, and then blacked out. Feinstein told police he may have had a seizure because he could not move his arms or stop accelerating. After hitting the first car, he caused a separate four-car crash near Eola and Butterfield roads, police said. Three cars ended up bouncing off guardrails in that crash, police said.
Feinstein and his two children were taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center, where they were treated and released, police said. The second driver, Beth Ritchason, was taken to Provena, and was in listed in good condition Friday. A third driver, Olena Petruk, was treated and released from Provena.
Feinstein was not charged in the first crash, but was charged with failure to reduce speed and improper lane use in the second crash, police said.
Brandon Finley, 19, 1200 block of Foxcroft Drive, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and failure to dim headlights at 8:14 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Wilson Street, police said. One passenger, Devante Earl-Brown, 20, 400 block of East Melrose Avenue, Aurora, was charged with resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking, police said. A second passenger, Jasmine Gabler, 19, 200 block of Hankes Street, Aurora, was charged with underage drinking, police said.
A snowmobile helmet and boots were taken when someone damaged a trailer in the 1800 block of East Wilson Street overnight Wednesday, police said. Total loss was $1,000.
Counterfeit bills were used to make small purchases at two fast food chains in the 100 block of North Randall Road and 0-99 block of South Randall Road between 1:38 and 2:09 p.m. Thursday, Batavia police said.
An 18-year-old North Aurora resident has been charged in a sexual assault in Kendall County which occurred last month. The Kendall Sheriff’s Department said Antonio Rosales, of the 0-99 block of North Lincolnway in North Aurora, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with two counts of criminal sexual assault, both Class 1 felonies. The incident occurred on Feb. 21 in the 100 block of Saugatuck Road, police said.
John Young, 53, of Rochelle, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed and illegal transportation of alcohol after he drove into a ditch at 7:50 p.m. Thursday near Highpoint and Budd roads, police said.
