Hospital employee charged with stealing patient’s pills

Julie Wood, 22, 500 block of Madison Street, Yorkville, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 21 at Delnor Hospital, police said. Police said Wood was working as a patient care technician at the hospital when she stole 37 hydrocodone pills from a purse in a patient’s room.
Police said a person walked back into the room and found Wood rummaging through the purse. Wood then left the hospital to sit in her car during her break, and the pills were found in the vehicle, police said.
Aurora
Kenneth Walker, 49, 300 block of North River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon as well as misdemeanors aggravated assault, violation of Firearm Owner’s ID Card Act and illegal possession of ammunition at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North River Street, police said.
Michael Howard, 48, 200 block of Claridge Circle, Bolingbrook, was charged with felony driving on a suspended license as well as misdemeanors no insurance and expired registration at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Broadway, police said.
Someone may have been injured when a driver accidentally hit the gas, ran over some shrubs then hit a parked car at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday near Drexel Avenue and Station Boulevard, police said. Christopher Kline was charged with driving too fast for conditions. Police refused to release his age or address.
Elburn
For the eighth straight time, all the businesses checked for compliance by Elburn police refused to sell tobacco to a 17-year-old. The following businesses passed the test: Elburn Mobil, 213 S. Main St..; Elburn Liquors, 319 S. Main St.; Valley Liquors, 151 East Route 38; BP, 940 N. Main St.; Jewel-Osco, 800 N. Main St.; and Walgreens, 1001 N. Main St., police said.
Kendall County
A 19-year-old Yorkville man said someone approached him with a knife at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday and told him to leave the property in the 900 block of Route 34, near Yorkville, the sheriff’s office said. No one was injured or arrested, police said.
A 58-year-old Montgomery woman suffered injuries in the parking lot of Long Beach Elementary School, the sheriff’s office said. Mark Tamborinno, 43, 0-99 block of Saugatuck Road, Montgomery, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a school zone, police said. Tamborinno said his foot slipped off the brake and his car bumped the Montgomery woman.

Kevin Clayton, 41, of Yorkville, was charged with drunken driving, disobeying a stop sign, failure to yield and no insurance after a two-car crash at 12:20 a.m. Friday near Route 34 and Center Street, police said.
