Sarah McCollester, MD of Naperville recently joined VNA Health Care as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. Dr. McCollester completed her residency at and received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA. McCollester was the Administrative Chief in the residency program, responsible for scheduling at Harrisburg Hospital and Hershey Medical Center. During her residency, she received several awards, including the Pinnacle Health System Harrisburg Hospital Frederick D. Curcio, III MD Award. McCollester completed her undergraduate work at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and minors in Theater and Chemistry.

VNA Health Care is expanding its primary health care services at 400 N. Highland Ave. in Aurora with seven new doctors and nurses.

The new doctors are: Sarah McCollester, Naperville, obstetrician/gynecologist; Chastity Quinn, Woodridge, nurse practitioner in the obstetrics and gynecology department; Priscilla Sarmiento-Gupana, Aurora, pediatrician; Ashima Gupta, Oak Park, pediatrician; Mark Francom, Naperville, family nurse practitioner; Katherine Haslam, Naperville, family nurse practitioner; and Marco Barajas, Plainfield, pharmacist.

McCollester received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. McCollester was the administrative chief in the residency program, responsible for scheduling at Harrisburg Hospital and Hershey Medical Center. During her residency, she received several awards. McCollester completed her undergraduate work at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minors in theater and chemistry.

Quinn received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Most recently, she was employed at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn as an RN in labor and delivery.

Sarmiento-Gupana completed her residency in pediatrics at Cooper University Hospital — Children’s Regional Hospital in Camden, N.J. She is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey — School of Osteopathic Medicine and received a bachelor of science in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Osteopathic Association.

Gupta completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center — Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital in Maywood. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., and her undergraduate degree from University of Colorado at Boulder, with a double major in biology and English.

Francom received his bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Utah and is a recent graduate of Idaho State University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program. Most recently, he was employed at Intermountain Health Care Urgent Care Clinics.

Haslam most recently was employed as a registered nurse at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge, Mass., where she received the 2010 Partners in Excellence Award. Haslam received her bachelor of science and master of science, both in nursing, from Regis College in Weston, Mass. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Barajas completed his doctorate of pharmacy degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Most recently, he was employed as a pharmacist at Jewel-Osco in Shorewood.
