Park District tests residents’ knowledge with online contests

ST. CHARLES — How well do you know St. Charles? Do you have a photographic memory of the parks around the city? To kick off its year of 100th anniversary events, the St. Charles Park District is sponsoring two online trivia contests that will test participants’ knowledge of the nearly 1,500-acre district.

Contest participants can log on to www.stcparks.org and choose to compete in either a weekly or monthly contest, or both.

Weekly, visitors will be asked to identify a mystery photo taken at one of the district’s numerous park sites or facilities. A new photo will be posted every Monday.

The second online contest is a monthly trivia challenge. On the first Monday of each month, the district’s website will post a question that tests players’ knowledge of various aspects of the district.

For both contests, responses are submitted online. Winners will be drawn at random from the pool of correct entries.

The contest is open to all ages. Possible prizes will include such items as a free round of mini-golf at River View Miniature Golf Course, a day pass to the new Otter Cove Aquatic Park or a family hay ride at Primrose Farm.
