Seth and Sam

Age: 11 months old

Breed: Domestic medium hair

Background: These guys have been together from the beginning and need to be adopted together.

Personality: These two brothers are quite a pair. They joined a group of 10 cats and three dogs without missing a beat. They marched right in without any hissing or growling to make friends easily with the rest of the kitties. They can be found curled up together in a ball for a quiet nap or playing with the other kitties.

Other: They are completely litter-box trained, up to date on their vaccines, neutered and microchipped.

Adoption fee: $150 (Adopt two kittens or cats at the same time from the same foster home and the adoption fee for the second cat or kitten is reduced by 50 percent.)

Where to find the pet: www.helpinganimals.org or call 877-364-2286

Holden

Age: 5 years old

Background: Holden’s owner gave him up.

Personality: Holden is a special-needs cat who is a gorgeous all-white male with an outgoing personality. He loves to talk and play — his favorite toy is the “cat dancer.” Holden should be an only cat.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: All animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Rolo

Age: 1-1/2 years old

Breed: Shepherd mix

Background: Rolo came to ADOPT in August 2013 as an unclaimed stray from Animal Welfare in Chicago.

Personality: Rolo’s foster parent is still a puppy in many ways and is a little rough for small dogs. He would do best in a home with no other animals, and a fenced yard is strongly recommended.

Other: He is crate trained and housebroken.

Adoption fee: $250

Joe

Age: 9 years old

Breed: Short-haired Tabby

Background: Joe was rescued from a sump pump hole at a construction site when he was a tiny kitten. Because of injuries to his tail during his rescue, Joe’s tail had to be partially amputated, so he has a cute little “bob-tail.”

Personality: Joe is a sweet cat, who has spent almost his whole life in foster care. He gets along with the many cats he has lived with, and has watched most of them go to their forever homes.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: Neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Where to find this pet: Paws and Purrs Humane Society, 630-897-8738 or www.pawsandpurrs.org.

Cleo

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Manchester gerrier-Chihuahua mix

Personality: A dainty little bundle of fun, 18-pound Cleo adores people of all ages and loves nothing better than to snuggle up in your lap. Cleo would be ideal for a first-time dog owner or an experienced family. She enjoys playing with other dogs and going for car rides and walks. Surprisingly quiet, Cleo is a medium-energy dog and could easily live with you in a townhouse or apartment.

Other: A smart girl, she’s coming along well on her housebreaking and is already crate trained. Watch her video at http://youtube/ii8jb9kjBrI

Other: Cleo is spayed, crate trained and current on her vaccinations; microchipping is included with her adoption fee.

Adoption fee: $200

Where to find the pet: RoverRescue.org or call 630-897-7454

Randolph

Age: 1.5 years old

Breed: American pit bull terrier mix

Background: He was transferred to NAHS from an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma.

Personality: Randolph is smart, sweet and handsome. He is a dog with a lot of energy, so he is looking for an active family. Randolph walks nicely on a leash and is a quick learner, but will still need some help polishing up on his manners. Because he is still working on sharing his toys and treats, Randolph will need to live in a home with older children that are experienced with dogs. He gets along well with some dogs, but would do best with a dog that shares his play style.

Adoption fee: $14 during the adoption promotion My Furry Valentine from Feb. 1-16

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Dee Dee

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: Dee Dee was found as a stray by local animal control and transferred to NAHS.

Personality: Dee Dee is a sweet, easy-to-please cat. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, Dee Dee is all about love and affection. She starts purring the minute you pet her and will keep nudging you for more attention. She might do well living with another friendly cat, and might even do fine living with a calm and gentle dog.

Adoption fee: $14 during the adoption promotion My Furry Valentine from Feb. 1-16

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.
