Updated: April 1, 2013 6:31PM

Sean Robertson is a lawyer who is passionate about educating his community about the law. Robertson, 39, runs Robertson Law Group in North Aurora and gives law tips on his blog, North Aurora Law.

Robertson has been practicing law for nine years. He specializes in divorce, family law, commercial transactions and litigation, and estate planning and wealth preservation law. Readers of North Aurora Law can expect to receive advice and information on these topics as they relate to Kane and DuPage counties.

“I hope to communicate my knowledge, understanding, and more importantly, a perspective in how to solve somebody’s problem whether that is a family, business or estate issue,” Robertson said.

Topics on North Aurora Law range from asset protection to things to consider during divorce. Receiving law information from a local lawyer can be a valuable asset to many individuals, and is one of the ways that Robertson Law Group wants to give back to their community.

“We expect to become a staple in the North Aurora community,” Robertson said. “We expect to establish a major educational component to teach our prospective clients about family, estates and trusts, and small business legal issues in the future. For example, we want to establish a two- to three-hour educational class that educates consumers about the law.”

Robertson’s interest in educating the public and his clients about law is what sets him apart from other lawyers.

“The purpose of an educational class is appealing because information is power. Any good attorney-client relationship should be a partnership with the lawyer taking the lead and the customer being empowered.”
